Group Therapy

Group Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with three or more people at the same time in a safe and confidential environment.

Benefits of group therapy can include:

  • Support, Safety, and Encouragement among participating members that are going through the same thing. This helps with feeling less alone while going through an issue or struggle.

  • Insight on Social Skills: How you communicate and express within a group helps the therapist understand your communication styles, and the therapist can help guide your group through healthy communication skills.

  • Afforadability: Group therapy often has lower pricing than individual, couples, or family therapy.

Before engaging in group therapy, it is important to understand that willingness to share and engage with the group is vital to benefitting from group therapy. It can be uncomfortable at first, but the therapist will have ice breakers, activities, and group "rules" to ensure safety, confidentiality, and connection.

Group therapy is not for those in crisis! If you are in a crisis, please seek individual support. If you are having suicidal thoughts, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 for support. If you or a loved one are in immediate danger, call 911.
